Our Journey: From Oshio College to Royal Pacific Institute

Royal Pacific Institute, formerly known as Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology, has a proud legacy rooted in the vibrant city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

The institute’s origins trace back to 1999, when the Oshio Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic was first established.

Building upon its growing reputation among both Chinese and Western communities, Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology was founded later that same year to meet the increasing demand for authentic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) education.

The name “Oshio,” meaning “great tide” in Japanese, symbolizes the powerful and enduring surge of traditional Chinese medicine into the Canadian healthcare landscape.

Over the course of more than two decades, the college steadily expanded, attracting students from across the globe.

In recognition of its broadened vision, the offering of more programs, and its increasing international reputation, the institution was rebranded as Royal Pacific Institute.

Today, Royal Pacific Institute proudly carries forward the mission of training competent, ethical, and compassionate practitioners, many of whom have obtained professional licenses and established thriving practices throughout Canada.

These graduates have become an important complement to the Canadian healthcare system, enriching it with holistic and natural approaches to wellness.

Royal Pacific Institute continues to nurture excellence, bridge cultures, and promote the flourishing of traditional Chinese medicine in Canada.

We remain steadfast in our belief that natural therapies, including traditional Chinese medicine, a treasured heritage of humanity, will thrive and shine brightly on Canadian soil for generations to come.
